"Good spot for kids, just a little busy"
Took the kids here and they had a really good time overall. It was a bit busier than I expected, so we had to be patient in a few areas, but nothing that ruined the visit. I did ask support about the best time to come, and they basically said something like, “weekdays are usually quieter if you can manage it,” which was helpful. Would go again, just maybe at a less busy time

"Tickets are pricey"
The tickets cost a little more than I’d like, but it was still worth it

"Fun hands-on stuff, def worth a visit"
I had a good time here. I liked that there was alot you could actually touch and try instead of just looking at everything. A few spots were kinda crowded, and a couple exhibits seemed a little worn down, but overall it was fun and kept us busy for awhile

"Felt more like a cash grab than a gift shop"
I stopped by the gift shop hoping to pick up something nice, but it was disappointing. Everything felt way overpriced for what it was, and the person at checkout came off rude, which made the whole experience worse. It kind of felt like they cared more about squeezing money out of customers than actually offering a good experience. I won’t be going back.

"The membership is honestly worth it"
I wasn’t totally sure at first if the membership would be worth it, but it’s been a good deal for me. I’ve already gotten enough use out of it to feel like it paid for itself — which is always a nice surprise, right?

"I went last weekend, the thing I..."
I went last weekend, the thing I keep remembering is how clean everything was. I couldn't tell you every single exhibit I saw, but I definitely remember there being no mess around and even the bathrooms were spotless. It just made the whole visit feel nicer and more relaxed. Easy 5 stars from me.

"Fun in spots, but the learning felt like a moving target"
I checked out Tech Interactive expecting something with a bit more solid science learning behind it, but it felt hit or miss. Some of the activities are fun and there are definitely a few cool ideas, but just when I thought something was going to explain a concept, it kind of moved on or stayed really surface-level.
As a parent, that was frustrating. It felt like the goalposts kept moving between “this is educational” and “this is just a quick interactive thing,” and I wanted a clearer sense of what kids were actually supposed to take away from it. For younger kids it might be enough to keep them busy for a bit, but I was hoping for more substance.

It’s not awful, and I don’t want to make it sound like there’s nothing worthwhile there. I just left feeling like the site could be much more useful if it were better organized and followed through on the learning parts instead of dangling them and then shifting to the next flashy thing.

"Fun field trip, but it felt a little rushed"
I went here with my kid’s class for a field trip, and overall it was a decent experience. Some of the exhibits were really fun, especially the hands-on ones, so the kids stayed interested. It was crowded, though, which made it harder for our group to move around, and because of that we ended up getting rushed through a few areas. The staff was friendly, but sometimes we weren’t totally sure where we were supposed to go next. It wasn’t a bad trip, just could’ve been a lot smoother with better organization

"Exhibits felt a bit worn out"
I wanted to enjoy the place, but a lot of the exhibits felt kind of tired and not that interesting. A few things were broken too, and this is where it got annoying because it made the whole visit feel like it wasn’t really being kept up. It wasn’t terrible, just not as engaging as I expected

"Staff could’ve been a bit more helpful"
I mean, it was fine, totally fine. The staff just seemed really busy, so I didn’t get much help when I needed it. Not a huge deal, but it would’ve been nice if someone had been a little more available.

"Fun day out, even with the crowds"
Took my kids to The Tech and we had a really good time. There were tons of hands-on exhibits, and they stayed busy way longer than I expected, which felt like a small parenting win for me. A few areas were packed, and a couple of things weren’t working, but overall it was still a fun visit and worth the trip

"Way too crowded"
It was way too packed to really enjoy much. The lines felt like they dragged on forever, there were kids running around everywhere, and it just wasn’t worth it that day. I also got the feeling there were a few extra charges tucked in that weren’t super clear upfront, which made the whole experience even more annoying.

"Surprisingly quick visit"
We went on a weekend, so I was expecting to be stuck in long lines, but they moved way faster than I thought. Check-in was simple too, which was a nice little win for us. We never really felt like we were just standing around waiting, and it made the whole visit so much more enjoyable.

"The cafe was fine overall, nothing too exciting..."
The cafe was fine overall, nothing too exciting. There weren’t a ton of options to choose from (I was hoping for a bit more variety), but the snacks were decent and did the job when I needed something quick.

"Not really worth the trouble of getting there"
I went to The Tech recently, and I’ll be honest, getting there was more frustrating than it should’ve been. Traffic was bad, which I expected, but the parking situation nearby was confusing and felt expensive for what it was.
If you’re not already familiar with downtown San Jose, it’s just not the easiest place to navigate. I ended up circling around a few times, and the signs weren’t especially helpful, to put it politely.
By the time we finally got inside, I was already irritated and not really in the mood to enjoy it. It wasn’t terrible, but with the hassle involved, I can’t say I’d be eager to go back...

"Parking was fairly easy"
I was able to find parking close by, which was nice. It wasn’t free, unfortunately, but it still made the visit feel a bit easier overall.

"Workshops felt chaotic"
I might be jumping to conclusions, but it felt like the workshops were thrown together last minute. Everything seemed rushed, and the organization just wasn’t really there

"I went to the IMAX at..."
I went to the IMAX at The Tech and was hoping it would feel like a special treat, especially since the tickets aren’t exactly cheap. The screen was definitely huge, but the sound was all over the place for me—too loud during some scenes and kind of muddy during others. The seats also weren’t very comfortable, which gets noticeable during a longer movie.
The staff were nice enough and everything seemed clean, so I don’t want to make it sound like the whole visit was bad. I just felt like for what I paid, the experience should’ve been better. I’d still come back for the museum, but I’d probably skip paying extra for IMAX next time.
